We’re growing quickly, and are proud to be part of the future of work.The data analyst at Bravely will work closely with our head of product, and across all our teams, to find the stories in our rich body of data and help the team use them to support employees using Bravely. You’ll own our data views and be our team’s trusted source of data-insight for decisions in product, business strategy, finance, sales, client success, and marketing.You’ll have a storytelling approach to data, fluidly using tools from SQL to sheets to visual data dashboards to convey the human stories our data are revealing. You’ll be a collaborator, taking in the data needs from across the company and coming back with data-driven views, tools, reports, and schema suggestions to support what we’re trying to learn and achieve. What You'll Do Investigate product data and reveal stories about what’s really happening from the data to inform decisions across the company Own, build, and maintain all aspects of our data reporting and automated dashboards, so the team has access to the data they need Be the steward of our data’s consistency and meaningfulness, managing inputs and advocating for clean and comprehensive data creation and processes Be the data whisperer in the team - collaborate internally on data storytelling projects emerging from your findings, including marketing, sales and financials, and supporting industry thought leadership Communicate and train non-technical teams on reading and acting on data as part of their routines Partner with engineering on an as needed basis for systems integrations About You You’re a data storyteller - you can dig into a raw body of data and identify trends, and the narratives they suggest are present You fluidly translate business questions and problems from stakeholders into data investigations, and find answers You have knowledge of various statistical analysis approaches and tools, and you’re good at picking the right approach and tools to find meaning in raw data, e.g. identify trends in bodies of free text data You’re strong in analysis, you’re organized, and you’re a clear oral and written communicator Preferred but not required: you have experience with squishy, human, behavioral data (e.g. any background in people science or social science data sets) Requirements You can work fluidly in SQL and Excel to manipulate imperfect data in pursuit of trends and answers You’re comfortable creating data visualizations and views for the broader team using dashboarding tools such as Chartio, Looker, or Tableau (we use Looker) Appreciated but NOT required: you have experience with scripting languages such as Python and R Working at BravelyAs a team, we practice what we preach: we live our values, communicate openly and honestly, and actively work to cultivate an inclusive and supportive people first environment in which everyone can grow, thrive, and make meaning from their work.We embrace diversity and equal opportunity fervently, with a strong commitment to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
